In certain conditions, large quantities of microscopic algae grow creating unsightly green water.A Vorton (UVC) is a unit positioned outside the pond which has the pond water circulated through it by using a submersible pump. Inside the Vorton is an Ultra Violet lamp. The water passes through the rays of the lamp before re-entering the pond.
The light eliminates green water by making the algae clump together so they can be removed fromthe water.
Efficient & Effective:
Built-in turbulator- The rotating flow of water through the Vorton, created by the product design, gives even and optimum exposure of the water to the UV light and eliminates air locks.
Domed Quartz Glass Tube- Quartz allows 87% of the UV rays to pass through it into the water where it can treat the algae. This is very much higher than glass or plastic.
Single Ended UV Lamp- Higher UV light emmision paricularly during the early part of its lige.
Optimum operating Temperature- The air gap between the lamp and quartz tube is designed so that it keeps the lamp close to its optimum operating temperature, maximizing UV emmision.
This unit is weatherproof but can not be submersed. It has a built in safety switch for maximum outdoor user protection.
